Portraits in Oils
Collector-Quality Giclées in Edition Limited to Commission
by Michelle Christides

Portrait Commissions:
conditions and pricing

Copyright and resale royalties are retained by the artist according to international law for intellectual property. You may order additional giclee prints from the artist only, although, I shall supply them provenance records with my signature at a favorable discount to my portrait clients from the current value of my work.

The artist requires a deposit of 1/3 the commission fee once the commission is contracted (these are the conditions of a standard contract), allowing at least 90 days to schedule and paint an oil portrait. Less than 90 days to schedule the work is considered an expedited service, subject to 20 percent additional charge and one-half the commission fee in advance. No refund is made for cancellation once the work is begun or within 30 days (one-half deposit refund 90--30 days before due date). No changes in composition or photos are made once the initial sketch is approved within the time limits. The full amount is due upon completion of the work.

As your portrait is a work of art, I thank you for choosing this artist because you like my work -- and my intention in doing a portrait is to make the best work of art of your commissioned painting that you happen to be in. I am responsible for its quality and aesthetic validity. You are responsible for supplying the photographs that reflect accurately what you want in your portrait, and any changes in photos must be made within the above schedule to avoid the expedited service fee.
